Foreign transactions of non-landed homes increased in June 2020

This graph from OrangeTee & Tie reveals that non-landed private residences in Singapore bought by non-permanent residents (NPR) went up to 49 in June 2020, a spike from the 14 units transacted in May 2020 and 7 units in April 2020. Developers are expecting the numbers to rise as One North Eden launches later this year.

The figures of non-landed abodes purchased by foreign buyers is also more than the 33 units sold back in June of last year.

Furthermore, the figures of non-landed homes purchased by Singapore permanent residents (PR) has jumped from 56 units in May 2020 to 120 units in June 2020, higher than the 86 units sold in June 2019. Units sold at Dairy Farm Residences project accounted for some of these numbers.

There are more foreign purchasers buying private residences remotely due to the travel restrictions or border lockdowns implemented in many countries. This is very different from the past where many foreigners generally buy a unit only after visiting a sales gallery.
